Cape Coral, Florida

Cape Coral is located at the west coast of Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico. The peninsula is separated from the Caloosahatchee River of Fort Myers. The sports and recreation programs are very extensive. The silence and the feeling of "Take it easy" are the first and the most important reasons to looking forward to recreation. Two of the most important sport activities are tennis und gulf (5) besides boat sports and fishing rods. By the way boat: The boat is the second vehicle besides the car. Because Cape Coral is drawing through canals you are able to land your boat at your own boat path behind your house. And that all without having a driver`s licence for boats! So plan your outings! You may drive your boat over the Caloosahatchee River to the Lake of Okeechobee or even to the east coast.

Who likes it a little shorter: Sanibel and Captiva Islands have the most beautiful beaches in the USA. To eye the sunset from there is a non-recurring experience. These two islands can also be accessed by car over a bridge where you have to pay an obligatory toll. Immediately next to Fort Myers Beach with it`s beautiful sandy beach to Naples. You get there very good fish dishes at the harbor.

It is worthwhile to make day trips to Busch Garden, Tampa, (about 2 hours car ride away) a zoo, combined with roller coasters. On your way lies the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. The complex of the old prince of circus consists of four parts: Museum of Art, Ca`d`zan (wintertime residence of the Ringlings), the Asollo Theatre and the Circus Galleries. The construction is build in Italian Style and very beautiful to look at.

Of course don`t forget the Everglades.You can reach them in 1,5 hours.

You want to travel futher to Key West?
The car ride takes at least five hours over many bridges and you should include one overnight stay. You can reach the Key West faster and more peaceful with the hydrofoil from Fort Myers Beach.

Orlando, the key term for Mickey Mouse, Sea World, MGM and the Universal Studios, lies 3 ¼ hours away. Also here it is recommended to plan at least one overnight stay.

Miami lies approximately 2,5 hours away and when you drive over the Everglades Parkway (obligatory toll fees), repassing the major Outlet Mail of the world, my own information: the Sawgrass Mills Mall lies between West Sunrise Boulevard and Flamingo Road and belongs to Fort Lauderdale.

Miromar Factory Outlet, the Edison Mall, Bell Tower Mall are only some possibilities. Also the Giant Fleamasters Fleamarket is worth seeing, approximately 900 "slowpokes". Fr - So 08:00 - 16:00.

A Tip:
Whether you sea coupons or coupon booklets, pick it up and use it. It`s worth it!

By planing your outings, please consider always the restriction to the speed, which is 70 mph = 112 kilometers per hour! You need more time, but this will be balanced out with a more essential relaxed driving.

Arrival:

The most important thing: Don`t forget your valid, clear readable, passport and the driving licence!!! You have different airports in Florida at your`s disposal, that is Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando. Try to book a flight with less stoppings.
